Laura has more than 25 years’ experience in journalism, public relations and communications. She works for a range of clients that include public entities, private companies, non-profits and institutions of higher education. Laura’s work combines smart research, effective storytelling and targeted messaging.
Before jumping out on her own and establishing LT Communications, Laura was an award-winning reporter and editor who worked for the Associated Press, the San Antonio Express-News and the Houston Chronicle. She covered the Branch Davidian siege and other “only in Texas” news stories as an AP reporter and followed then-Gov. George W. Bush as the Express-News’ capitol bureau chief. As state editor for the Houston Chronicle, she directed coverage of the space shuttle Columbia disaster, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the bitter congressional redistricting battles, among other things. Based in Houston, Laura can assist you with your communications needs wherever you are located, even in far West Texas, where she and her husband have a cabin in the tiny town of Marathon.
